Every young person on the roll of SchoolsCompany Central Devon Academy will have an allocated mentor who will have responsibility for their personal wellbeing throughout the time that they are with the academy. On admission the mentor will agree with the young person a personal learning plan that addresses their learning targets, attendance, behaviour and individual development.
The mentor will meet regularly with the young person and communicate with parents / carers, staff and other agencies. The mentor is intended to be the first point of contact for the young person and their parents and carers. In addition to this we also have several pastoral support workers who are available during the school day when the personal mentor may be teaching and unavailable.
Students in year 11 entering the public examinations period will also have a single point of contact and support during this time.
