Trip to Exmouth Beach

students on exmouth beach trip

This took place as a Cross Curriculum activity. Students studying for the AQA GCSE History B qualification, completing their enquiry on ‘Conflict and Peace during the 20th Century’, took the opportunity with their peers and KS3 to spend the day considering beach warfare.

During the day students wore army uniforms, dug individual fox holes, cooked with rations and engaged with possible strategies and weapon designs for defending Exmouth beach against the enemy. There may also have been sometime for ice-cream too!
